UEPA organizes working group on GDPR Implementation

UEPA organizes a working group within the framework of the international network of independent law firms PANGEA NET (www.pangea-net.org) on the topic of implementation of the new General Data protection Regulation (GDPR).

The first working group meeting takes place on 29th November 2017 in Prague.

The participants will discuss the international experience with the GDPR implementation and present case studies.

The goal is to create cross-border cooperation to support international companies with GDPR implementation in the individual countries and share best practise.

Representatives from 14 different jurisdictions will attend the meeting, among others from Germany and France.

Seminar „GDPR in practice“ for members of the German-Czech Chamber of Industry and Commerce

Our GDPR team, specialized in the implementation of the new European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) into companies practice, organises in cooperation with the German-Czech Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DTIHK) a seminar called “GDPR in practice”.

The seminar takes place on 31st of October 2017 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at DTIHK-cupola, Václavské náměstí 40 (entrance from Štěpánská Street 40), Prague 1 and is open for Non-members as well upon registration.

The two Speakers at the Seminar are our colleagues Mgr. Lucie Hladěnová, LL.M. and Mgr. Bc. Tomáš Mudra, who gained a lot of practical experience during numerous already finalized GDPR process implementations

UEPA is a partner of the “International Hospitality Investor Conference”

UEPA is a partner of the “International Hospitality Investor Conference” which takes place on 30th October 2017 at the Orea Hotel Pyramida in Prague.

The main goal of the conference is to present current situation on the Czech hotel market to domestic and foreign investors. The conference offers a unique opportunity to meet many professionals of the hotel industry from around a world at one place. The conference will be attended by representatives of the world’s largest hotel chains, developers, investors, architects, financial advisors and government officials.

UEPA will be represented there by Lars Klett, who will present on the topic “Foreign investor opportunities in Mergers & Acquisitions“.

PRAGODENT – GDPR for dental practice

Our GDPR team, specialized in the preparation of companies for the new European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), will actively participate in the PRAGODENT dental fair. We will be part of the accompanying professional Programme and hold a lecture called ,,Practical guide to GDPR for dental practice‘‘. Approximately 450 dentists and dental clinic representatives will be present.

The lecture for registered participants only will be held on 13th October 2017 at 13:00 in Křižík’s pavilion B at the Prague Exhibition Grounds in Prague – Holešovice.

The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by doc. MUDr. Roman Šmucler, CSc. Our colleague Mgr. Lucie Hladěnová LL.M. will be one of the panelists.

UEPA hosts the „PANGEA NET EMPLOYMENT GROUP MEETING“

UEPA hosts the „EMPLOYMENT GROUP MEETING“ within the framework of the international network of independent law firms PANGEA NET (www.pangea-net.org), which takes place on 12th and 13th of October 2017 at the UEPA offices in Prague.

After the last meeting in London in January 2017, current topics in the field of labour law will be discussed again along with exchanging valuable experience.

The programme includes the following topics:

  • New European regulation about data protection (GDPR) in the view of labour law.
  • The goal is to create joint international offers for implementing the GDPR in international companies.
  • HR – Core Project – new project related to connecting legal advice, accounting and HR consulting
  • cross-border employment

One of the speakers is the German-Polish lawyer, Dr. Georg Jaster, who will be speaking about the experience of Polish investors taking over companies in Germany.

Representatives from 16 different jurisdictions will attend the meeting.
