Karl-Heinz Schumacher was born in 1946 in Wiesbaden, Germany. He studied jurisprudence at the universities in Mainz and Frankfurt am Main. During his studies, he founded his own company in the field of facility management, which currently employs approximately 5,000 people and operates throughout Germany. Later, he taught at Brno University of Technology and University of Economics in Prague. He focuses on strategic corporate management in the age of globalisation, international relations and links between the economy and society.

Karl-Heinz Schumacher has served successfully as a conciliator in numerous shareholder and management disputes.
